Cast as “Miss Saigon’s” newest Gigi, Rachelle is wasting no time in the next two months prior to leaving for London in March. The Kapuso singer, who is included in Style Weekend’s (Manila Bulletin) Faces to Watch For in 2014, revealed her preparations for the job.
“Work out talaga para pagdating dun hindi ako hingalin… Tsaka medyo sexy din kasi ’yung role ko dun as Gigi (that’s why I’m also taking) dance class – dapat jazz – and voice lessons,” Rachelle said in an interview aired on “24 Oras.”
The singer is overwhelmed with the support she has received, most especially coming from colleagues who formerly played Gigi. Even Lea Salonga, who played Kim in the musical, gave her tips.
So ayun, nakakatuwa na makausap ko sila,” she related in the same “24 Oras” report.
Also marking her 10th year in showbiz, Rachelle announced that she will be staging a concert for her fans this February before heading to London.
So gusto kong i-share sa tao ’yun,” she explained.
Apart from Rachelle, Pinoy artists in the West End revival include Jonjon Briones as the Engineer and 17-year-old Fil-Am Eva Noblezada as Kim.
