Prayer to Mary and sweet notes

Noel Card

PRAYER TO MARY – Highspeed continues to acknowledge Christmas and New Year cards, which come rarely these days of social media.

Will start with the card sent by Sister Mary Xristilla of the Incarnation, OCD, Carmelite nun in the Carmel of St. Joseph in Lucena City, Quezon province. The nun is Cristina Soriano, best friend and classmate at Maryknoll of my sister Monina. Sister Mary Xristilla marked her golden jubilee of religious profession Dec. 8, 2013.

Her card with this Prayer to Mary.
Mother of God, I ask of thee:
A childlike heart, so pure, so free
All crystal-clear like mountain streams
No selfish sorrow thenceforth springs
A heart magnanimous and true
In its compassion tender, too
A faithful, grateful, kindly heart
No ill-will bears though deeply hurt
Grant me a meek and humble heart
Loving yet seeks not to be loved
Glad to be lost to others heart
That Christ may be its one, great love
Make thou my heart so strong and firm
Yet of thine mercy let me learn
Pained by the glory of my God
With wounds never healed but by His love.

SWEET NOTES – From Danny Dolor a Noel card with a sweet note, “a wonderful Christmas and a happy, blessed, and prosperous New Year.”

Well, Danny gifts friends with the sweetest and juiciest apples, pears, oranges, grapes and, best of all, cherries.

Sweet notes also came from KC Concepcion, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Manay Ichu Maceda, Cesar Montano, Baby Gil, Viva, Philpop, PMPC, Girlie Rodis, and June Torrejon Rufino and family, Angel Locsin.

Girlie writes: “…don’t think of yourself as old…just think of yourself as youthfully challenged.”

SHARING – June’s card is illustrated with an angel. Understandable as June believes in and collects angels. The lady has hundreds of angels in her collection, adorning her home and office.

June’s sweet note:
Since the true spirit of Christmas is in giving, in lieu of gifts, I have donated a humble amount in your name to the Philippine Red Cross for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda. As we rejoice in the season when the Lord shared His love for us, we also share in this joy of spreading our blessings to the people who need it most.
