Toni Gonzaga and JOHN Lloyd Cruz

MARRIED ON SCREEN: It takes some doing, Toni Gonzaga admits, for someone like her to play a married woman for the first time.

She’s exerting all efforts to look and feel the part every time she cuddles up to John Lloyd Cruz, who plays her husband in forthcoming sitcom, “Home Sweetie Home.”

Toni now realizes married women behave differently than single women such as herself. It’s in the attitude.

Toni laughs off remarks that the role is in preparation for her future status as Mrs. Soriano if and when she finally agrees to marry her long-time director-boyfriend. She’s 30 and aware of her fast-ticking biological clock.

COMIC FOR A CHANGE: “Home Sweetie Home” signals her reunion with John Lloyd, with whom she co-starred in the 2010 hit, “My Amnesia Girl” The series tackles (tickles?) silly and funny situations that could only come out in married couples with extended family, who tend to be clingy.

Members of Toni’s immediate family are her parents, played by Rico Puno and Sandy Andolong, and her siblings (Miles Ocampo and Clarence Delgado).

For his part, John Lloyd said doing his first ever sitcom as an adult is a most welcome break from the heavy dramatic roles he usually plays. His director, Edgar Mortiz, says JLC is an actor with a mean comic bone.

The sitcom premieres on Jan. 5, around 7:30 p.m. on ABS-CBN, right after “Goin’ Bulilit.”

OUTSTANDING JOEY: Veteran TV personality Joey de Leon was named outstanding alumnus by the University of the East in a recent celebration honoring other alumni.

MOST PROMISING: Indie film actor Norris John couldn’t believe it when the organizers of the 12th Gawad Amerika 2013 informed him he was to be awarded Most Promising Actor in ceremonies held in Hollywood, California recently. Norris, who has acted as lead in at least 5 films, flew to the US to accept his award.
