“Given the chance sa darating na eleksyon at hindi ako tatakbo, I will make sure that I will do one movie as a director. ‘Yun ang dream ko,” Gov. Vi told ABS-CBN News in a recent interview.
The Star for All Seasons, who last starred in the award-winning Cinemalaya entry “Ekstra,” wishes for a project that is “raw, bago, and ‘yung creation ko para alam ko kung anong gagawin. Pwedeng mag-umpisa sa indie.”
However, such plans may have to be put on hold, as she still counts her responsibilities as a public official as a priority.
“Ang nangyayari na lang, kapag mayroong magandang script na talagang gusto kong gawin and then at the same time libre naman ako sa Batangas at maayos lahat, then magagawa ko. Pero kapag hindi, hindi siguro. Mahirap,” she explained.
Ate Vi, as she is fondly called by her many followers, is now on her last term as governor. She admits, “Nami-miss ko talaga (ang showbiz), it’s just hindi lang po puwede talaga na mag-full time.”
The veteran actress-politician also clarified that she has “no plans” of running for higher office once her term ends.
“Concentrate lang muna ako sa Batangas. Wala talaga. Hindi ako nagpa-plano talaga. With all honesty, kahit kami ni Ralph (Recto), hindi namin pi naguusapan,” she related. (Pau Aguilera/mb.com.ph)
