MORE than P30 million was raised by TV5 last Sunday night during its live airing of the “Tulong Kapatid, Sulong Kapatid” telethon for the victims of Yolanda, the super typhoon that ravaged the Visayas and rendered thousands of Filipinos homeless and in dire need of food and medical assistance.
Telecast live from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., the telethon aired via “The Mega and The Songwriter: Kanta at Biyaya” with Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid hosting for the whole duration of the five-hour show, which also aired live in TV5’s international channels worldwide. The telethon’s live airing resumed the next day from 5:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. during the “Good Morning Club” timeslot.
