Bea feels awkward with new leading man

Bea Alonzo

Bea Alonzo admits that while she and her new leading man Dingdong Dantes are getting along, this new partnership is making her feel a little uncomfortable.

“So far it’s awkward… kasi hindi kami (madalas na nakakapag-work together). Parang unlike sila Sam (Milby) and John Lloyd (Cruz), parang I’m used to being with them. Parang nakikipagbiruan ako sa kanila,” the Kapamilya actress told Push in an exclusive interview.

Bea and Dingdong, stars of rival networks, are currently doing a film project. This is Dingdong’s third team-up with Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s production film outfit.

The Kapuso actor has actually worked with several Kapamilya actresses already, namely Kris Aquino (“Segunda Mano,” 2011), and Angelica Panganiban and Angel Locsin (“One More Try,” 2012). Both films were entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) that had earned him back-to-back Best Actor trophies.

According to Bea, Dingdong is a gentleman. This enables her to use the “awkwardness” she feels to her advantage, a secret ingredient to their team-up that could lead to the film’s success.

She explained, “I think it’s working for us kasi alam mo ’yung medyo may mystery pa ’yung isa’t-isa. So it shows kapag (nagro-roll ’yung camera).”

Bea was also quick to address speculations that her boyfriend Zanjoe might get jealous with Dingdong. She said, “No, they’re friends. They’re been friends even before I met him kasi they’ve worked together in a movie.” Dingdong has worked with Zanjoe in “One More Try.”

It was also previously reported that Marian, Dingdong’s girlfriend, sent Bea a bunch of pastries. “Napakabait ni Bea sa akin,” Marian was quoted as saying in a separate Push interview.

For her part, Bea posted a photo of Marian’s gift and said, “Thank you so much @therealmarian for this!! I am truly touched!! Hope to hang out with you soon.. @dongdantes.”
